Just enough crunch! May 11, 2008
By Proberta Gerber
"wine snob"
Unlike one uphappy reviewer, I was pleased to open my jar of Branston Original and discover that it was just as crunchy and just as flavorful as the last time I'd had a Ploughman's in a pub in the UK. I'd never had anything like it here in the US and was delighted with it on first acquaintance. It's a pungent explosion for the tastebuds and a nice crunch for the choppers, too. I will admit there is a bit more of the sauce-y stuff, in proportion to the crunch, than I like -- hence the four stars instead of five -- but on all other points, this pickle in a jar compares very favorably to what I recall having fresh. I've also ordered the Heinz Ploughman's pickle through Amazon -- not so much crunchy stuff, way too much "sauce," and not as good a flavor (blander) IMO. This Crosse and Blackwell comes in a good sized jar for the price and is well worth ordering.

A little bit of England in a jar Aug 12, 2007

"Straight to the Point In Colorado"
My husband came over from the UK about ten years ago. When he first arrived here in the states there were very few companies importing at least from a retail product standpoint many of the things he missed. If you have never had "pickle" with very nice cheese and artisan bread you can not even begin to image what you are missing.

Not crunchy = Not Branston May 05, 2008
By Isaac VanDuyn If you've ever had good, fresh Branston pickle in England, you know that the vegetables within are crisp and crunchy. Unfortunately the jars of Branston pickle that I was shipped contain disgustingly mushy vegetables. I am completely disappointed, and frustrated that I spent so much money getting three jars of this shipped, and also ruined a perfectly good cheese sandwich.
