5Don't be fooled by the name - this is heaven  Aug 08, 2005
By Michael Lanzetta "Froplover"
I've been having more and more trouble locating Clotted cream in America, and have been settling for Double Devon instead. I'd just about convinced myself that there really wasn't a difference when I found these jars and proved myself wrong.

Clotted cream is rich and extremely dense, and spreads thicker than cream cheese. It's got a slightly sweet taste, but the big news is just how creamy it is - giving any scone a heavenly silky mouthfeel and marrying perfectly with whatever jam or jelly you choose to use. Cream Tea just can't exist without it.

5Buy this delicious clotted cream!!  Apr 05, 2006
By Kurt A. Johnson
Just what is clotted cream? You make clotted cream by heating and cooling milk, allowing the cream to rise in "clots," and then skimming the clots from the top. (This is sometime called Devonshire cream, as well.) The result is a thick yellowish spread that tastes to me like whipped butter, but sweeter and not salty.

Let me tell you, clotted cream is delicious, perfectly made to put on biscuits and (especially) scones. There is nothing as delicious as a scone, straight out of the oven, and spread with clotted cream! Find out what the British have known for generations - buy this delicious clotted cream!!

Having spent some time in the British Isles, I had the pleasure of scones almost every day. I could duplicate the scones back home but not the clotted cream. I was thrilled to find this. Very good product!

3Tastes like plain whipped butter  Feb 16, 2012
By Evan Wilson
I was expecting a milkier, richer taste but this tastes just like plain whipped butter or even just plain butter, but less salty. When the bottle arrived, the cream contents looked strange because the cream had a marbling color of neon yellow and white; not a uniform white, milk color shown in the picture advertised. The cream settled to the bottom of the jar and also looked lumpy. I might have received a bad jar, or the contents might have chemically altered due to heat in transit, I don't know, but the cream was not at all what I expected. It did not taste like the clotted cream I ate when I was in England and did not have a smooth texture.

Very nice clotted cream! Perfect on warm baked goods. Came ahead of time, packaged well. Expiry date is pretty soon, only complaint, but will use it up by then.
